Activities to do in Trapani

1. Day trip to Favignana

A day trip to the island of Favignana is definitely something you should do when staying in Trapani. To get to the island, you need to buy tickets for the ferry in advance. We purchased the tickets through the company Liberty Lines, and they cost 25 euros per person. The first ferry departs at 08:30 from Trapani, and the last boat leaves Favignana at 20:50. Upon arriving on the island, it's recommended to rent a bike, available for as low as 5 euros per person. We opted for electric bikes, which cost 10 euros per person. We rented the bikes from the company Noleggio Maria Laura, located about a 5-minute walk from the harbor.

We had planned a bike route in advance, so you don't have to worry about that anymore.

  1. Start at your chosen bike rental shop.
  2. Cycle towards Cala Rossa, which offers a stunning view of crystal-clear blue water. I found this to be the most beautiful spot of the entire vacation. The beaches here are rocky, so don't forget to bring your water shoes.
  3. If you start feeling hungry, cycle to Bue Marino. Here, you can enjoy a tuna sandwich at Tunafish Mobile and relax on the beach.
  4. After lounging on the beach, cycle to Molo di punta Marsala - an observation point where you can capture beautiful photos.
  5. The next point on the bike tour is Scogliera Cala Azzurra, another location for sunbathing and swimming in the water. There's little shade here, so keep that in mind if you're likely to get a sunburn.
  6. If you're looking for lunch, I recommend La Costa Sunset Bar Cala Trono.
  7. Grotta Perciata is a small bay surrounded by rocks. It's a bit challenging to descend into the water.
  8. The MojitoBus is a van converted into a bar. They serve the tastiest Mojitos.
  9. The final stop is Spiaggia di Marasolo. This beach is a bit quieter compared to the others, and the sea is more easily accessible here.
