1. Bam Bar – Via di Giovanni, 45, 98039 Taormina ME
4,5/5.0 Google reviews
Bam Bar is the most popular place to get granita’s in Taormina, earning its fame trough its feature in the series “The White Lotus”. That is why it’s a bustling spot, so be prepared to join a line before a spot becomes available. To secure a place, you provide your name to a waiter and patiently wait until your name is called.
Arriving early in the morning reduces the wait time. During our visit, we only had tot wait for a few minutes. Bam Bar offers a variety of granita flavors. We tought the strawberry and raspberry with wipped cream on top, was the best combination. You can eat the granita by its self, but you can also eat it in combination with a warm served brioche. This granita turned out to be the best granita I ate the whole trip. You could taste it was made of fresh ingredients, with the presence of the strawberry and raspberry seeds in the shaves ice. Because it can be very hot in Sicily, this is the perfect dish to cool down.
For 2 granitas (each with 2 different flavors), 2 brioche pastries, and 2 cappuccinos, our total bill came to 15 euros and 40 cents.
2. Pizzeria Villa Zuccaro - Piazza Carmine, 5, 98039 Taormina
This restaurant is located in de city centre of Taormina, in a quieter area. It offers exceptionally good food, with their pizzas being a recommendation. As a starter, my partner and I shared the House appetizer. This dish contains Eggplant “Parmigiana”, Sicillian eggplant relish, fried cheese and Eggplant roulades. Despite the amount of eggplant, I didn’t get tired of it, because each component had a different taste. It was, by far, the most flavourful eggplant dish I have ever tasted. I highly recommend trying the house appetizer when you dine here.
For the main course, I recommend to get the Regina di Bronte pizza, topped with tomato sauce, buffalo mozzarella, pistachio cream (!) and Parma ham. This was the best pizza I had during the entire trip. The creaminess of the mozzarella and the sweet nuttiness of the pistachio with the savory Parma ham, created a perfect combination. In Sicily, any dish featuring pistachio is heavenly, that is why I chose the Pistachio soufflé as a dessert. It looked like a lava cake but instead of chocolate it was filled with pistachio cream, making it heaven on earth.
In total we shared the house appetizer, ordered 2 pizza’s, 2 desserts, a bottle of wine, and a bottle of sparkling water, all for a reasonable total of 90 euros.

3. Novè - Via di Giovanni, 27, 98039 Taormina ME
During our stay in Taormina, we discovered our love for pistachio cream. Fortunately, we found Novè, a shop that sold a variety of pistachio-infused treats. From pistachio granita with a brioche filled with pistachio cream to espresso and croissants stuffed with pistachio cream, they had it all.
There are a few tables inside, giving you the option to enjoy your food indoors. The owner of the shop is very friendly and is happy to recommend his products. We stocked up on several jars of pistachio cream for ourselves and as souvenirs for our loved ones back home.
